Kids and Grunden

Today we started with the Grunden Bois of Soweto (mentally challenged people) for 1 hour. They are 20(men&women) of them with different challenges.
The school program was a success again. We had 70 kids in total today. The best thing about it is everyday the kids start to wait for us at 14h00 pm and we only start at 15h00-16h00pm. Sometimes they come to our office to fetch us (they can't wait to start).








Increasing to 150

The kids love sports and fortunately Blitz is there. We had 100 kids from 5 different schools and the gender is 50/50(girls and boys). The schools are Mochochonono , Lumelang,Tlholohelo,Matubeng and Dikwankwetla. That was not all the kids because some came from other schools and since we deal with kids we can't turn them away. The number increased to 150 kids.

This was our first week of the school programm
All the kids from 5 schools were there.
As Blitz we have given schools a tusk of choosing 20 kids per school
and the criteria was choose kids that don't participate well at the classroom
or at school in general but the gender must be equal (10 girls and 10 boys).
.Next week is another fun week with the kids.

First kids to the new school program

The first of our school program was conducted by Wire (with the kids on the photo), Stapia, Thabiso jr and Bashin.

Preparing the school program

Fumane ,Thabiso,Masechaba and Tshepo were given a task of preparing a session on Handball and only one person was familiar with the sport and he was not going to be the powerhouse since they know the sport. Why? Because we wanted to show that sports have a link (some exercises can be used on a different sporting code from a particular sport.)
They are at Entokozweni Community Centre and they are planning a training program. At Blitz we do things in advance since we got the Swedish training and it works wonders because we are always prepared.
This guys we have given education on how to plan,prepare and how to work as a team.
As a team they can accomplish our goal .
They were dealing with boys and girls between the ages of 8-12 years old and they needed to prepare their training according to their age.

Schoolprogram next week

The final invitation letters were delivered to the two last schools and were received with great enthusiasm.
Our school program is on track again. We are starting on Wednesday due to the public holidays on Monday and Tuesday. It is all systems go from know on.
We are also planning the Soweto Fotball Festival during this time and the planning will be used as a project plan education for the trained leaders.

Soweto Grunden Boys

Blitz have adopted a mentally disturbed NGO that is based in one of Soweto`s township called Moletsane. Since we deal with sports and we like to help we decided to be with them on wednesdays because its their sports day. We do fun games with them and a little football/ netball. The people that do the fun games are Wire and Stapia from the Blitz office.
